College

College, worth it or not?

Another hot topic in the news would be if college is a good choice or not. Many families have been wondering if they should send their child(ren) to college. There have been many statistics in the news lately on how many people graduate, find a job afterward, and how costly it is. If you go to college, you obviously want to graduate and get a job, but it may not be as simple as all that. Graduating college is already a huge predicament, its difficult, stressful, and can even be overwhelming. After you graduate (If you do) you have another problem awaiting you. Actually finding a job. A huge percent of people who graduate college have a tough time finding a job. Probably the biggest problem of going to college would be paying back all of the loans you took out to go. Once you take out the loans you have to pay them back, but you have to graduate first, then actually get a job to start paying it back.

You want to go here? Know the risks.

You want one of these? Good luck.

Taking out a loan? Have fun paying it all back while trying to find a job.

What I'm saying is that college can be a huge waste of time, money, and your life if you can't find a job fairly quickly. Though, this is just my opinion, going to college or not is all your decision.

Presidential Election of 2016

Who do you think should be president?

The 2016 Presidential Election will definitely be a hot topic when it comes around. There may even be a woman for president this time. The Presidential Election of 2008 was going to make headlines all over the country because we were going to break a record.  We were either going to have the oldest president ever (John McCain) or the first colored president (Barack Obama). Obviously we have Barack Obama now, and he won again in 2012 against Mitt Romney, so he was elected for his 2 full terms. But that's all in the past. We are now looking into the future. We will have 2 different candidates, this time it may break another record. One being we might have a woman as a president for the first time in history, and the other is unknown or just won't break a record.

could be one candidate (Hillary Clinton)

Or

could also be another candidate (Ben Carson)

Though nobody knows the future, this is just speculation.

Personally, I really don't care who is president as long as they do their job and are for the people. That's what the Constitution was for, the people, the title was even "We The People" I just want whom ever is elected, that they say what they are going to do and are actually for us and are not just in it for the money...

Ebola

Ebola, what are your thoughts?

Just like abortion, Ebola is a very hot topic. Ebola has sprung up all across the world in the past few months, but it has been here for much longer. It first began in 1976 in Africa, but has sprung up in March of 2014 and really started to make an impact on the world. Since 2014, about 4,493 people in Africa died from the disease, but there have been many many more deaths through out the world. Though Ebola is extremely infectious, it isn't extremely contagious. It can only be passed on from person to person by bodily fluids. A person can also contract the disease through an animal, if an animal has the disease and a person come in contact with it, that person can contract the disease that way. This website explains the symptoms of Ebola: http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/26666359/fact-sheet-ebola-how-its-spread-symptoms-treatment

The website also explains how to properly get over Ebola.  Currently there is no specific vaccine or treatment for the Ebola virus. The best way to overcome Ebola is to make sure you drink a lot of fluids, make sure you get the right amount of oxygen, and treat other infections as they occur. If you are infected with Ebola be sure to seek help ASAP. Ebola is a very harmful, and deadly disease that you most certainly would not want to have. On top of it, the longer you have it, the more chance you have to spread it to friends/family/etc.

Update: Recently, there has been a doctor in the news that stated he had Ebola and has survived it. He claimed he had the disease for a fair amount of time and he recovered from it. This proves that you can survive the disease.

Update #2: It is believed that there are no more Ebola-infected patients in the United States as of 11/14/14.

Abortion

Abortion, what are your thoughts?

Abortion is a really big topic in today's society. People are talking about it left and right, is it good? Is it bad? Is it worth it?  Some people may say yes, and some people may be against it.  There are definitely two sides to an argument about abortion, one being pro-life or pro-choice/abortion.  Personally, I am not either of them. So I will express some examples and information for both sides.  I am not necessarily "for it" per say, but then again, I am also not "against it".  If you want to have an abortion, good for you, go for it.  However, if you don't think it's a good idea, then that's your opinion and people would have to respect you.  According to this article on abortion: http://www.abortionfacts.com/ Fact #1 states that having an abortion kills a human being. Yes this is true, but it's the own persons choice if they want to kill their unborn child.  Fact #5 basically says that if you don't want to have a child, then don't get pregnant. Well, it isn't as simple as all that, some pregnancies are unplanned, or the mother could have been raped.  Fact #11 says that having an aborting is more dangerous than actually giving birth.  Some mothers might not be having an abortion because they feel fear, they might be having it because they just don't want a child, or can't support it financially.

There are benefits and disadvantages to having an abortion, obviously some being good and some being bad.  Some of the benefits include, but are not limited to the following. It is considered to be one of the easiest and convenient ways of getting rid of unwanted and unplanned pregnancies.  Many women also suffer from from various hazardous medical conditions such as heart disease, kidney disease, sever hypertension, sickle-celled anemia, severe diabetes etc.  All of these diseases can be life threatening, and an abortion often helps to avoid serious medical complications such as child birth.  Having an abortion also helps limit the size of a family.  If the carrier is too young, or perhaps too immature, having an abortion can undo that mistake, though at the cost of killing the unborn child.

Some of the disadvantages include, but are not limited to the following.  An abortion can be considered as a brutality and do not give the child a chance at life.  This is frowned upon by many religions all across the world.  Having an abortion always lessens the chance of having a child later on in life.  Though it is not a mandatory phenomenon, it can definitely happen, leaving the woman childless forever.  Some women may think that they can mess around all they want and just have an abortion and everything will be alright.  It doesn't necessarily work like that, if you keep having abortion after abortion, soon you won't be able to actually have a child when you want one.  Though if you don't ever want one, and keep having multiple abortions, it can still mess you up.

Adoption is also another way to have a child if you are not comfortable giving birth and have an abortion.  Some statistics of adoption are as follows.
The age of children waiting to be adopted:
1-3 years: 26%
4-6 years: 19%
7-9 years: 15%
10-14 years: 20%
15+ years: 12%

Abortion is a very serious topic that has to be discussed at one time or another, if you have any concern about adoption be sure to do research and know your facts and your risks.  It will be better for your family and it will make you live a happier life knowing that your choice is the choice that you want to make.
